Anatomics reduces radiation exposure by 38.5% with EOS GmbH

Anatomics faced the challenge of improving the efficiency and reducing the costs of spinal fusion surgery, which represents a significant portion of healthcare spending for back pain. Growing demand for patient-specific solutions required a robust and scalable 3D printing technology to manufacture highly accurate, biocompatible surgical devices.

The solution was implemented using EOS's Selective Laser Sintering (SLS) technology, specifically the FORMIGA P 110 printer and PA 2200 material, to produce the core components of their SpineBox™ system. This included patient-specific spine models, surgical positioning templates, and SpineTube™ tissue retractors. EOS enabled Anatomics to achieve a 38.5% reduction in patient radiation exposure and a 17% reduction in operating time, while also improving clinical outcomes across over 300 successful surgeries.
