Zalando, a leading European online platform for fashion and lifestyle, partnered with the vendor EON to integrate Digital IDs into its products. The challenge was to provide greater product transparency to customers and promote a shift towards more sustainable shopping behaviors by helping prolong the lifespan of garments.
EON’s solution provided a digital foundation using QR codes on garments, enabling Zalando to offer an interactive experience. Customers can scan the codes to access information on a product's origins, materials, and care instructions, as well as services for resale. This initiative helps influence purchasing decisions towards sustainable products and supports the company's circularity goals by preparing items for future resale and recycling.
