La Trobe University Enters a New Era of Data Management With Envizi

La Trobe University, a Victorian tertiary institution with six campuses, more than 35,000 students and over 3,200 staff, faced fragmented, manual sustainability data collection across 160 energy accounts and multiple sites, causing reporting errors, compliance risk and heavy resourcing burdens. To address this, La Trobe engaged IBM Envizi ESG Suite, deploying its Sustainability Reporting solution to consolidate environmental data and replace spreadsheets with a single system of record.

IBM Envizi ESG Suite automated data capture, improved auditability and accuracy, and enabled clear tracking of energy projects and consumption patterns, making National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting (NGER) significantly easier. As a result, La Trobe eliminated the need for a dedicated sustainability data resource, achieved potential annual savings of up to AU$30,000 in external audit fees, and freed facilities teams to focus on strategic energy-efficiency initiatives.
