U.S. Farmers & Ranchers in Action publishes SDG roadmap after 41 interviews with ERM

U.S. Farmers & Ranchers in Action (USFRA), representing farmer and rancher-led organizations, faced the challenge of defining U.S. agriculture's role in achieving a sustainable future amidst climate change and other global shifts. They partnered with the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD), which recommended Environmental Resources Management (ERM) for its sustainability expertise and experience in developing SDG Sector Roadmaps.

ERM implemented a solution based on robust stakeholder research, including a literature review and 41 interviews, to map the sector's contributions to the Sustainable Development Goals. The resulting report, delivered on time for USFRA's 2020 Honor the Harvest Forum, outlined key collaborative opportunities organized into three pillars: People, Planet, and Process. The work provided the sector with a common framework to strengthen its license to operate, manage risks, open new markets, and take action on its key environmental, social, and economic impacts.
