Shell delivers Ormen Lange Phase 3 ahead of schedule with ERM

Environmental Resources Management (ERM), the vendor, was engaged by Shell for its Ormen Lange Phase 3 project in Norway. Despite having benchmark safety programs and excellent metrics, the Shell project leadership recognized an untapped potential in their safety culture. The solution implemented by ERM involved deep observational techniques and coaching, including their 'Observing Differently' and 'Engaging for Impact' methodologies. ERM facilitated sessions that helped the leadership and over 500 personnel uncover cultural vulnerabilities and develop practical skills for impactful frontline engagement. As a result, the project was delivered ahead of schedule and on budget, with ERM's work fostering a profound, lasting shift in safety culture and stronger collaborative relationships across all contractors.
