imID reduces security incidents to zero with Entrust

imID, Armenia's national digital identity and trust services provider, faced the challenge of rolling out a nationwide digital identity ecosystem that required meeting stringent eIDAS and international trust standards for qualified electronic signatures. They needed a secure, certified, and scalable cryptographic foundation to provide hardware-backed operations and ensure institutional trust from banks and government agencies. To solve this, they turned to vendor Entrust for its certified Hardware Security Modules (HSMs).

Entrust implemented its certified HSMs to serve as the secure hardware layer within imID's Qualified Signature Creation Device architecture. This solution provided a tamper-resistant environment for cryptographic operations, which streamlined regulatory approvals and security audits for partners. The results included a significant reduction in internal security workload, zero critical security incidents since deployment, and a scalable foundation that enables imID to power Armenia's digital transformation.
