Fourth GL Prodata Ltd partnered with Entrust to help the Republic of Cyprus issue EU disability cards that could be easily identified by people who are blind. The challenge was to add static embossed braille characters to the cards while supporting centralized card data and photos for a national issuance program.

Entrust and Fourth GL Prodata Ltd implemented the Datacard CE840 instant issuance system and Datacard ID Works Identification Software to emboss braille, personalize cards, and manage all data in a central database. The result was a successful issuance solution now producing about 5,000 EU disability cards per year in Cyprus, with a two-year card life expectancy, and a proven model Fourth GL Prodata Ltd can offer to other EU countries.
