A Entrust Case Study
Banco BICE, a Chilean bank founded in 1979 and based in Santiago, needed to comply with SBIF regulation 3.400/2007, which required a second authentication factor for electronic transactions. To improve security without relying on a physical token, the bank turned to Entrust Datacard and its IdentityGuard authentication solution.
Entrust Datacard implemented a flexible two-factor authentication approach for about 60,000 customers, offering options such as SMS, hardware or soft tokens, and mobile push notifications. The solution helped Banco BICE reduce fraud risk, improve the customer experience, and meet regulatory requirements, while also creating a platform that could support future transaction verification and signing use cases.
