Case Study: Swisscard reduces online payment fraud and abandonment with Entersekt

Swisscard secures online payments with Entersekt, cutting cart abandonment and protecting hundreds of thousands of transactions

Swisscard, the only company in Switzerland to offer American Express, Mastercard, and Visa credit cards from a single source, wanted to replace one-time passwords (OTPs) for authenticating online payments. Their challenge was to improve the cardholder experience with 3D Secure to reduce abandonment rates, meet new security regulations, and roll out a new solution with minimal disruption. They partnered with vendor Entersekt to address this.

Entersekt, teaming up with Netcetera, implemented its Transakt mobile app for one-touch online payment authentication. As a result, Swisscard has secured hundreds of thousands of transactions since the 2014 launch with no reported fraud losses to date. The solution also significantly reduced shopping-cart abandonment, successfully meeting their goals.
