Case Study: Investec achieves global secure mobile authentication with Entersekt

A Entersekt Case Study

Preview of the Investec Case Study

Investec goes global with push-based, in-app user authentication

Investec, a global specialist bank and asset manager, wanted a single, streamlined way to secure online banking, employee access, and mobile self-service across all business units and countries. Its challenge was to improve security without relying on ineffective mobile device fingerprinting or disrupting the user experience for clients and staff. It worked with Entersekt and its authentication products, including Interakt and the Transakt platform/SDK, to support this goal.

Entersekt implemented push-based, in-app multi-factor authentication using mobile digital certificates, replacing SMS OTPs and hardware tokens with simple tap-to-authenticate approvals. The solution enabled out-of-band authentication, reduced phishing, man-in-the-middle, SIM-swap, and malware risks, and eliminated the need for re-enrollment when phones or operating systems changed. While the case study does not cite specific numeric ROI, Investec reported a dramatically improved user experience, stronger mobile security, and the ability to launch new digital services with confidence.
