NTT DATA ABIC Provides Low-Cost, High-Reliability Cloud Services to Japanese Financial Institutions with the Help of EDB

NTT DATA ABIC, a provider of asset-custody and investment trust services for Japanese financial institutions, needed a way to move its packaged products to the cloud without being burdened by high Oracle Database licensing costs. As it shifted to virtualized cloud services, the company also needed a database platform that could support complex applications and sensitive financial data with strong reliability and efficiency. EnterpriseDB, through EDB Postgres Advanced Server, became the key option.

EnterpriseDB helped NTT DATA ABIC migrate from Oracle to EDB Postgres Advanced Server with support from Ashisuto, taking advantage of EPAS’s Oracle compatibility and standard replication features. The migration went smoothly, with more than half of the batch programs requiring little or no modification, compatibility issues resolved quickly, and the project completed close to schedule. As a result, NTT DATA ABIC launched cloud services at lower cost while gaining the reliability and availability needed for financial-sector customers.
