The National Land Survey of Finland (NLS) is a 200‑year‑old public agency responsible for national land surveying, property and ownership records, and geospatial data and maps. Facing a need to provide 24/7 customer service, NLS could not guarantee high availability and business continuity with its limited in‑house operating hours.

To solve this, NLS augmented its long‑running PostgreSQL deployment with EDB tools—EDB Failover Manager (EFM), Postgres Enterprise Manager (PEM), Backup and Recovery Tool (BART) and PostGIS—for automated failover, monitoring, backups and spatial support. The EDB implementation, plus training and responsive support, let NLS quickly build a resilient HA platform, maintain uninterrupted services, keep systems running smoothly and plan further EPAS expansions.
