ATU, a German automotive service company with ~10,000 employees and 599 workshops, set out to digitalize its services and grow online revenue but was constrained by a 20-year-old Oracle database estate. Complex licensing, high costs and costly outages made the legacy platform impractical for an agile, mission-critical online business that depends on appointment booking, stock and pricing applications.
