Agency for Restructuring and Modernization of Agriculture (ARMA) Uses EDB to Improve Availability of Critical Beneficiary Support Systems

The Agency for Restructuring and Modernization of Agriculture (ARMA) is Poland’s accredited paying agency supporting farmers and rural communities, with 16 regional and 314 local offices and roughly 12,000 staff. As more beneficiaries moved online—rising to over a million submissions—ARMA faced unpredictable, high-concurrency loads and the need to process requests (including GIS-based land identification) quickly and without errors, requiring 24/7 availability and scalable performance during peak periods.

ARMA implemented application containerization together with EDB Postgres Advanced and PostGIS, supported by Linux Polska for training and local assistance. This delivered demand-based scalability and stronger monitoring, resulting in higher database availability, faster application development, fewer errors, quicker issue resolution, lower total cost and capital risk, clearer licensing, and reduced vendor lock-in.
