Managed vehicle program saves st. Louis board of education more than $80,000 in just two years

St. Louis Board of Education, a school district in St. Louis, was struggling with an aging fleet of 79 vehicles that was expensive to maintain, less environmentally friendly, and pulling budget attention away from educating students. Enterprise Fleet Management helped the district address these challenges with a managed vehicle program, including maintenance, fuel management, and a plan to replace older vehicles.

Enterprise Fleet Management worked with the district to retire rarely used vehicles, cycle out aging units, and replace them with more fuel-efficient models aligned to the district’s funding period. The results included $3,000 saved in the first six months, more than $80,000 saved in acquisition costs within two years, and about $1,400 above market average per vehicle when older vehicles were remarketed.
