Kansas City PBS expands community access with Enterprise Bank & Trust, serving 1.1 million residents monthly

Kansas City PBS, a public broadcasting station, required funding to support a major renovation and expansion of its 50-year-old headquarters to enhance its community outreach and programming. The project faced a significant funding gap that could not be covered by private donations alone. Enterprise Bank & Trust, through its community development entity Enterprise Financial CDE, provided a solution using New Markets Tax Credits (NMTCs).

Enterprise Bank & Trust facilitated a $12 million NMTC investment, which was critical to closing the funding gap and completing the $16.5 million project. This financing enabled facility upgrades, the creation of new community spaces like "The Living Room," and technological improvements. The results included the creation of 100 construction jobs and the enhanced ability to serve over 1.1 million residents monthly through expanded educational content, civic engagement events, and more accessible programming.
