Atchison Family YMCA/Cray Community Center expands services with Enterprise Bank & Trust’s $9.9M NMTC financing and boosts membership nearly 40%

The Atchison Family YMCA/Cray Community Center, a long-standing cornerstone of its rural Kansas community, faced the challenge of funding a major renovation and expansion of its century-old facility. To achieve its vision for expanded community services and health initiatives, the YMCA partnered with vendor Enterprise Bank & Trust and leveraged its New Markets Tax Credit (NMTC) program through its affiliate, Enterprise Financial CDE.

Enterprise Bank & Trust provided a $9.9 million NMTC investment as part of the $11.5 million project, enabling the construction of a new 30,000-square-foot community center. The solution allowed the YMCA to offer new facilities like a therapy pool, teaching kitchen, and expanded wellness center. The results included the creation of 10 new permanent jobs and 42 construction jobs, a 40% increase in membership its first year, and a pivotal role in improving the county's health ranking. Enterprise Bank & Trust's funding was crucial to completing the project, which also spurred further downtown revitalization.
