Universal Components, a leading distributor of truck and trailer parts, needed to replace the demand forecasting capabilities it had previously used as part of RAC plc after its 2004 management buy-out. To preserve those benefits while implementing its own IT and ERP systems, the company chose Entalysis Extensions from Entalysis.
Entalysis implemented Extensions alongside Universal Components’ new ERP system to improve forecasting and procurement. The solution went live in April 2005 and helped increase order fill rate by 15% while reducing stock holding by 18%; over time, similar deployments across acquisitions also delivered average service level improvements of 7 percentage points and stock value reductions of 44%.
