Financial company seeks greenfield solution during spin off from parent company

The Financial Services Company, a large publicly traded insurer and wealth manager, needed to spin off from its parent and build its own secure U.S. IT infrastructure, with the mainframe environment as the backbone of the business. As a risk-averse institution, it was looking for a trusted partner to ensure safety, security, and compliance, and chose Ensono to support the greenfield mainframe project.

Ensono designed and implemented a dedicated hosted mainframe environment using IBM z15 architecture, DS8950 all-flash storage, and TS7770 virtual tape, along with a disaster recovery solution based on an IBM z15 Capacity Back Up processor. The result was a seamless spinoff, long-term partnership support, and comprehensive disaster recovery, while managing 3,000 MIPS, 100 TB of storage, and 50 TB of tape data transferred.
