Ensono, a Pinnacle VMware Cloud Service Provider, faced a challenge after Broadcom’s acquisition of VMware drove major licensing and pricing changes that threatened to raise renewal costs. As its own client, Ensono needed to quickly assess the impact and prepare for a critical three-year renewal while minimizing expenses.

Ensono responded with a broad optimization effort through Ensono’s own infrastructure strategy, including core-count reduction, DR redesign, server consolidation, vSAN adoption, and reduced NSX usage. The result was a 17% reduction in VMware renewal costs, a 17% drop in licensed core count, and about 50% lower storage-related labor, data center, and third-party vendor costs.
