Mission Health Improves Patient Care with Automated Discharge Management Solution

Mission Health, a multi-hospital system based in Asheville, NC (763-bed Mission Hospital; 1,179 beds system-wide) was hampered by a manual, fax-and-phone–heavy discharge process that created bottlenecks for roughly 54,000 annual discharges, made behavioral-health placements especially time-consuming, and limited staff time with patients. To automate and standardize discharge workflows, Mission Health implemented Ensocare’s automated discharge management solution embedded within its Cerner Millennium EMR.

Ensocare enabled a centralized Care Coordination Center and gave Mission’s care management team the ability to send multiple simultaneous referrals, securely transfer standardized medical packets, and streamline facility responses.
