La Taqueria, a 41-year-old Mission District taqueria in San Francisco known for its consistent team, recipe and loyal customers, had done almost no promotion or social media and relied on word-of-mouth, which left them growing more slowly than other fast-casual competitors despite steady revenue.
They installed Enplug’s live social media display behind the checkout to show Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, Yelp and Foursquare posts that used their handle or hashtag and prompted customers to share. In 60 days the display generated 517 posts, produced 116,367 impressions, drove a 3,088% increase in customers posting and a 6,013% increase in total posts, yielded high engagement on Instagram (133 posts with 2,949 likes and 244 comments), and correlated with a 28% increase in sales.
