NAV halves user-facing content with Enonic

The Norwegian Labor and Welfare Administration (NAV) faced a significant challenge with its website, nav.no, which users found complex and maze-like. With over 33,000 unstructured pages, critical information on financial benefits was scattered and difficult to find, causing stress for users in crisis. To address this, NAV partnered with vendor Enonic to implement a new content strategy.

Using the Enonic platform, NAV restructured its content into reusable building blocks and components. This solution consolidated information onto single product pages, drastically improving findability. The results included a reduction from approximately 30 pages per topic to just one, nearly 1,000 fewer pages overall, and half of all Google traffic now landing directly on the correct subpage, making the site far easier to manage and use.
