A Enonic Case Study

Helsedirektoratet - Customer Case Study

Helsedirektoratet (the Norwegian Directorate of Health) needed to replace an outdated, siloed SharePoint-based digital platform to deliver verified health information to professionals, patients and third parties, comply with regulatory requirements, and enable content reuse and machine-friendly APIs. Facing slow quarterly updates, duplicated diverging content and poor integrations, they selected Enonic as the digital platform (Enonic XP) alongside Netlife and Seeds to meet the brief of “what users need, when they need it, where they are.”

Using Enonic XP, the team consolidated content in a structured, atomic model, exposed it via APIs for third‑party reuse (e.g., Legehandboka.no), and deployed a clustered three‑node environment for high availability and scaling. Enonic enabled faster continuous releases versus the prior 3–4 month cycle, improved site search and editorial workflow, and delivered measurable gains: Siteimprove scores rose (Digital Certainty 67.0 → 88.9; Quality Assurance 60.1 → 96.2; Accessibility 59.5 → 87.2; SEO 81.3 → 83.2), while user surveys show 65% found what they came for overall and 74% for normative content.
