Veeco installed new lighting and wireless controls and cut warehouse lighting energy costs by 75 percent

Veeco Services operates a 615,000 sq ft distribution warehouse in North Bergen, NJ, where outdated high-intensity discharge (HID) and fluorescent fixtures—366 fixtures drawing a 150,825 W load—were delivering poor light levels, high energy use and costly maintenance. A 2019 lighting audit also showed new narrow-aisle racking required a lighting redesign to meet safety and operational standards.

National E Solutions retrofitted the space with 168W high-bay LEDs (23,000 lumens, 5000K) and Enlighted wireless IoT sensors on each fixture to enable precise grouping and occupancy-based dimming; fixtures were set to 75% power (126 W) for optimal life and light. The upgrade boosted aisle light to 25–30 footcandles, cut annual energy use by 804,725 kWh (a 75% reduction) and energy costs by $122,318, saved $14,000/year in maintenance, reduced CO2 by 554 metric tons, and improved safety and visibility.
