Arden University wanted to provide a unique virtual crime world learning experience for its Forensic and Criminal Investigation course to stand out from other distance learning offerings. The core challenge was to realistically mirror real-life scenarios, empowering students to confront decisions and step into various roles essential for a criminal investigation. They partnered with Engine Creative to develop this immersive platform.

Engine Creative created six fully immersive and SCORM-compliant learning modules utilizing 3D environments and AR integrations. The solution allowed students to actively participate by exploring crime scenes, inspecting evidence, and taking on investigative roles. The results were immediate; the course became oversubscribed by 112% and was the university's best-performing course in its first year, with students achieving higher grades. Due to this success, Engine Creative's partnership was extended to deliver a total of 26 modules across the full three-year course.
