Women’s Clothing Retailing Company partnered with ENGIE Insight to strengthen its sustainability strategy while keeping energy use and carbon emissions in check. The retailer had already made some progress through internal energy-reduction efforts, but wanted a more strategic approach to understand its carbon footprint, compare performance against peers, and identify higher-impact opportunities for improvement.
ENGIE Insight provided energy and expense management support, built a comprehensive carbon inventory, benchmarked the retailer against 22 peer companies, and conducted six site audits across different store types. Based on the findings, ENGIE Insight helped the customer prioritize six key projects with an expected ROI of more than 50 percent; several low-cost changes had payback in two years or less, and the retailer achieved a three percent reduction in kWh per square foot over two years while identifying additional savings in energy and carbon costs.
