GameStop, the software retailer, faced major telecom management challenges as it rapidly expanded to more than 6,600 stores. With limited internal telecom expertise and thousands of invoices and vendor charges to track, the company struggled with late fees, service interruptions, and rising costs. GameStop turned to ENGIE Insight for telecom expense and data management support.
ENGIE Insight implemented a Telecom Lifecycle Management approach using an “invoice first” methodology to build an accurate inventory, audit charges, validate services, and improve sourcing and vendor contracts. The results included $600,000 in recovered billing errors, over $1.5 million in service validation savings, more than $1.6 million in annualized sourcing savings, and $1 million in offset labor costs, for annualized savings of over $4 million in three years.
