CKE Restaurant Holdings, a national quick-serve restaurant chain, partnered with ENGIE Insight to build a comprehensive energy and sustainability program in response to growing investor expectations and the need to improve environmental performance without hurting already thin margins. The company needed a solution that could support stakeholder needs, reduce utility costs, and fit into daily operations across a complex, multi-location business.

ENGIE Insight helped CKE develop and execute a long-term resource management strategy using its Blueprint and 5 Keystone approach, along with benchmarking, audits, stakeholder engagement, and training. The program has been integrated into standard operating procedures and employee training, identified more than $1.6 million in potential annual savings across the portfolio, and uncovered an average of $1,400 or 3% in annual utility savings per outlier site, while also improving reporting, supply chain oversight, and environmental impact.
