Brave, the browser company behind a large Chromium codebase, struggled with slow, non-reproducible builds that took hours, required frequent context switching, and depended on expensive developer hardware. To address these challenges, Brave worked with EngFlow and its remote execution offering.

EngFlow implemented remote execution for Brave’s Linux and macOS Chromium builds, distributing work across hundreds of cores and sharing compiled objects between developers. The result was an 8x speedup, cutting build times from about 2 hours to under 15 minutes, while also reducing developer hardware needs and improving build reproducibility.
