Blue River Technology, a subsidiary of John Deere, develops intelligent agricultural machinery with a complex build environment that includes embedded systems, custom ARM64 hardware, and GPUs. As their Bazel builds grew slower and more flaky, teams were stuck with multi-hour builds that sometimes failed or took up to 8 hours, limiting developer throughput.
