Refuge, a UK-based charity providing support to survivors of domestic and gender-based violence, faced a significant challenge in processing a massive increase in donations. Their previous method of coding and preparing this income for import into their Raiser's Edge system relied on multiple, complex Microsoft Access databases, which was time-consuming, difficult to maintain, and not scalable. They needed a robust, flexible, and hosted solution to manage their growing transaction volume and complex allocation rules efficiently.

Working with Engaging Networks and using its Bulk Export API, the vendor Actually Data implemented a new solution. This involved a staging phase using PowerQuery for data cleansing and coding, integration with Loqate for address validation, and the use of ImportOmatic to import the prepared data into Raiser’s Edge. The result was a 76% reduction in daily processing time, a more scalable system, and a streamlined process that can be easily managed by their internal teams.
