Humane Society International (HSI) faced the challenge of re-engaging its vast global supporter base after initial email interactions dropped off. Their primary goal was to automate a process to reconnect with these supporters before they became fully disengaged and to gather valuable feedback on their preferences. They partnered with the vendor Engaging Networks, utilizing its Email Engagement Score and Marketing Automation services to address this.

The solution from Engaging Networks involved creating automated re-engagement journeys triggered by specific engagement scores. Supporters received personalized surveys and subsequent action alerts based on their responses. This strategy successfully re-engaged 1.4 million supporters, with email open and click-through rates significantly exceeding industry averages. The campaign collected data from over 44,000 survey completions and, most importantly, led to over 38,000 supporters making a donation to HSI after going through the automation.
