Fight for Flash – Using Engaging Networks to Create Adaptable Email to MP Actions

Diabetes UK faced a challenge with the 'postcode lottery' preventing fair access to the life-changing Flash glucose monitoring technology across the National Health Service. They needed to pressure local decision-makers to prescribe it. To tackle this, they worked with vendor Engaging Networks and the consultancy Root to Branch to create a targeted campaign.

Engaging Networks provided the platform for a highly adaptable email-to-MP action. The solution featured a personalized "finger prick" calculator that inserted a constituent's unique number into emails and shareable social images, powerfully highlighting the need for change. The campaign engaged 2,700 supporters, led 55 MPs to contact health boards, and generated significant media attention. This effort contributed to a major policy change, increasing access to the technology from 2% to 12% of those who needed it.
