A Engaging Networks Case Study

Preview of the Refuge Case Study

A Story Of Successful Selection, Migration And Fundraising

The UK-based domestic violence charity Refuge faced significant challenges with its digital fundraising, including a complex donation process with low conversion rates and a lack of control over driving its own website traffic. Needing an integrated solution to improve the donor experience and grow its small supporter base, Refuge partnered with the vendor Engaging Networks for its comprehensive eCRM platform. This new system provided the tools needed to build customized forms and emails with minimal internal support.

With the Engaging Networks platform in place, Refuge worked with a partner to rapidly redesign its donation experience. The results were transformative, with page conversion rates soaring from 2.78% to 17.5% and a 21% increase in holiday income. Later, leveraging the platform's agility during the COVID-19 crisis, Refuge pivotied its strategy to launch an emergency appeal, acquiring 18,000 new donors and raising over £1 million. This massive success, which included a 6325% year-over-year increase in fundraising, provided unrestricted revenue that had a transformative effect on the charity's vital services.
