Celanese, a global producer of specialty and intermediate chemical products, was struggling to manage a large, diverse portfolio of environmental remediation projects and asset retirement obligations. Spreadsheet-based processes, non-uniform data standards, long planning cycles (2–3 weeks), manual consolidation and limited real-time visibility increased audit risk and hindered decision making. To address these challenges, Celanese selected ENFOS and deployed the ENFOS Reserve Management web-based enterprise platform.

ENFOS integrated with Celanese’s SAP ERP, automated accretion and NPV calculations, and provided document management, activity planning, reporting, approvals and role-based training. The ENFOS solution reduced financial planning cycle time by about 80% (from 2–3 weeks to 2–3 days), eliminated contract labor for manual consolidation, improved transparency and portfolio reporting, cut legacy-system costs, and strengthened accountability and decision-making.
