Leading Real Estate Company trialed Enertiv, a building systems monitoring platform, on Building X, a 272,980 sq. ft. multifamily property with major mechanical and lighting systems that were consuming more energy than expected. Using Enertiv’s real-time electricity, gas, and water monitoring and alerting, Enertiv helped the team pinpoint continuous pump loads, faulty exhaust fans, mislabeled circuits, inefficient air-conditioning units, and lighting control opportunities. The resulting retrofit and operational recommendations were projected to cut electricity costs by 20% with about a 4-year payback, including VFDs on water pumps, ECM motors and timers for exhaust fans, lighting controls, and other upgrades.
