UTMB Health - Customer Case Study

UTMB Health, an academic medical institution with a large energy footprint across multiple campuses, faced the challenge of managing its complex utility infrastructure and identifying savings opportunities to support its mission and sustainability goals. They needed comprehensive data to make critical decisions and build a compelling case for funding essential energy projects. This led them to partner with EnergyCAP and utilize its UtilityManagement, SmartAnalytics, and CarbonHub services.

EnergyCAP provided a centralized platform that integrated utility bill, real-time, and carbon emissions data. This solution enabled UTMB to quickly identify and act on savings, such as adjusting building setbacks to avoid peak energy prices, and to easily compile data for grant applications. The results were significant; for one proposed plant renovation, EnergyCAP's tools helped identify projected annual savings of 7.3 million kWh and a reduction of 5,195 metric tons of CO2, with data retrieval time for such projects slashed from days to just 20 minutes.
