Rockingham County Schools - Customer Case Study

Rockingham County Schools (RCS) faced the challenge of managing rising utility costs and aging infrastructure, including nearly century-old boilers, across its 23 schools. As a rural district, securing the financial resources for modernization and improved sustainability was a significant hurdle. To address this, they utilized EnergyCAP's data management capabilities to analyze their utility consumption and build a compelling application for a critical grant.

By leveraging EnergyCAP to conduct detailed energy assessments, RCS successfully secured a $7.8 million Department of Energy grant. This funding is being used to implement a solution featuring HVAC upgrades, solar panel installation, and a transition to LED lighting. With support from EnergyCAP, the district is achieving its goals of reducing energy consumption, lowering costs, and improving indoor air quality, while positioning itself as a leader in energy conservation for rural school districts.
