Aquafin to optimise the performance of 300 waste water treatment plants using Energis.Cloud

Aquafin, the Belgian wastewater treatment manager, needed to monitor and improve energy use across 300 treatment plants consuming about 300 GWh/year. To reduce consumption, boost on-site PV and biogas generation, and move toward climate neutrality, Aquafin engaged Energis SA and implemented the Energis.Cloud energy management platform.

Energis SA integrated automated feeds from Fluvius, EDF Luminus, weather services and Huawei/Fronius inverters plus manual data, computed KPIs, and delivered 15‑minute dashboards, site benchmarking and sub‑metering to identify underperforming assets and optimize local production use. Using Energis.Cloud, Aquafin achieved ~1% annual electricity savings, reduced manual work by 8 hours/month, improved anomaly detection and team productivity, and is tracking PV production targets (30 MW/year by 2025) and other operational and financial gains.
