Case Study: Naval Group achieves real-time energy savings with Energiency AI

A Energiency Case Study

Preview of the Naval Group Case Study

How Naval Group's Nantes plant successfully made the energy shift to industry 4.0 thanks to artificial intelligence

Naval Group, a French naval defense construction company, faced a challenge in achieving its ambitious energy and carbon reduction goals at its Nantes plant. Their energy data collection was manual and outdated, causing a month-long delay in analysis and making it impossible to identify the sources of overconsumption in real time. They enlisted the help of vendor Energiency and its partner Akajoule to digitalize their approach and implement an AI-driven energy monitoring solution.

Energiency's solution involved first deploying a precise metering plan to collect accurate, real-time data. They then used artificial intelligence to build a digital twin model of the plant's energy consumption, which was implemented in their software. This allowed Naval Group to instantly detect anomalies, such as 50% consumption fluctuations under similar conditions and higher weekend usage, and to test corrective actions. The project identified new, previously inaccessible energy saving opportunities and provided the tools to achieve ongoing gains, confirming the site's shift to an Industry 4.0 plant.
