Iowa Insurer Grows Engagement by Building Relationships

The IMT Group, an Iowa-based insurer, wanted to strengthen employee engagement while preserving the relationship-driven culture that set it apart in a competitive insurance market. To better understand and improve that culture, IMT Group worked with Energage and used its employee engagement survey platform to measure how well the company was connecting employees, leaders, agents, and the community.

With Energage’s survey insights, IMT Group reinforced transparency, consistency, and employee involvement through team-building activities, employee committees, and stronger communication from managers and senior leaders. The results were strong: IMT Group scored 5 percentage points higher than other insurance and financial services firms for engagement, 14 points higher on feeling well-informed about important decisions, and 6 points higher on manager care, with that latter score improving 7 points year over year.
