The Wanamaker Building Uses Energy Intelligence Software to Manage Energy Costs

The Wanamaker Building, jointly owned by Amerimar Enterprises and TIERREIT and managed by IPC/Amerimar Management Co., LLC, was focused on improving energy efficiency, lowering demand, and reducing utility costs across its 1,000,000-square-foot Philadelphia property. To support those goals, the team worked with Enel X and used its energy management and demand response services, including a cloud-based energy intelligence software platform.

Enel X helped The Wanamaker Building enroll in PJM demand response and peak load predictor programs, and later deploy energy intelligence software to better manage when, how, and how much energy was used. The building reduced electricity consumption by 4.2 million kWh annually, saved 18.6 million kWh since 2009, cut winter peak demand by 1 MW and summer peak demand by 900 kW, and lowered monthly demand costs by $3,550 and $3,195 respectively. The building also reported an April 2015 electric bill that was $20,000 below budget.
