Major Wire Manufacturer Saves Money on Demand Charges with Real-Time Visibility

Suzuki Garphyttan, a global wire manufacturer, struggled with a lack of visibility into its energy usage at its South Bend plant, treating it as an unavoidable fixed cost. Enel X implemented its energy intelligence software (EIS) and provided a dedicated energy advisor. The solution delivered real-time visibility, which helped identify and manage costly energy peaks, and enabled participation in demand response programs. This resulted in annual energy savings between $25,000 and $50,000, fully funded the software through demand response payments, and provided an ongoing savings of 2.5–5.0% per year.
