A Enel X Case Study
Lodge Cast Iron, a long-established manufacturing company in South Pittsburg, Tennessee, wanted to lower energy costs while supporting sustainability and protecting its local community. To do that, the company joined the TVA-Enel X Demand Response program with Enel X, using a flexible approach that would let it reduce power use without disrupting customer supply.
Enel X worked with Lodge Cast Iron to create a simple participation plan that allowed the plant to shut down nearly 8 MW of manufacturing load within about 15 to 20 minutes of a dispatch notice. The result has been more than $130,000 in annual payments, along with reduced energy costs and a measurable contribution to grid reliability and carbon reduction efforts.
