Large Real Estate Investment Trust, a major REIT with ownership in eight public companies and more than $23 billion in assets, needed better visibility and control across a highly distributed portfolio of 1,700+ properties. To support aggressive CO2 reduction goals and lower operating and maintenance expenses, the company turned to Enel X and its energy intelligence software (EIS) to overcome challenges in tracking energy use, costs, and stakeholder alignment.

Enel X implemented EIS across 21 buildings, with 15 sites actively monitored by its professional services team to identify savings opportunities and report on KPIs. The solution helped the REIT optimize startup sequences, uncover nighttime waste, and reduce peak demand charges, while also enrolling 20 facilities in PJM demand response. The result was $1,000,000 in total savings and $360,000 in demand response payments to date, improving both portfolio performance and asset value.
