A Enel X Case Study
BGC, a major Australian construction and manufacturing company, was deeply committed to eliminating waste, including the inefficient use of energy. As one of the country's top energy users, they sought to improve efficiency and manage significant energy input costs. They partnered with vendor Enel X to implement its demand response service as a key part of their energy management strategy.
Enel X implemented a tailored demand response program across eight of BGC's energy-intensive facilities. This involved creating custom energy reduction plans, providing local operational support, and deploying energy intelligence software for real-time data visibility. The solution allowed BGC to temporarily reduce energy use during peak grid times. The results were highly successful, with BGC curtailing up to 5 MW of energy demand and earning over $400,000 in annual payments from Enel X, all while helping to stabilize the local grid.
