Anglian Water Partners With Enel X to Lower Costs, Earn Revenue and Beat Regulatory Targets and Corporate Sustainability Goals

Anglian Water, the largest supplier of water and recycling services in England and Wales by geographic area, needed better visibility and control over energy use, compliance reporting, and carbon reduction across a vast operational footprint. As a major energy user subject to strict regulatory and sustainability requirements, the company turned to Enel X and its utility bill management (UBM) software to centralise energy data and improve insight into costs and operations.

Enel X deployed UBM across thousands of sites, helping Anglian Water process around 50,000 utility invoices a year, identify billing errors, and support demand side response participation. The result was over £20 million in energy efficiency savings by 2016, more than £3.2 million in savings identified in 2015, an additional £200K reimbursement from a rebilled tariff error, faster regulatory reporting, and improved enterprise-wide cost control.
