Soldiers’ Angels is a volunteer-led nonprofit that sends care packages to U.S. servicemembers and their families, supported by more than 225,000 volunteers. The San Antonio facility normally ships 500–2,000 packages weekly but faced a massive holiday surge (as many as 18,750 orders/week) and a logistical bottleneck: APO/FPO parcels required a physical round-date stamp at the post office, limiting throughput and increasing reliance on third-party help.
Endicia built a software enhancement that combined shipping, postage and customs information with an electronic round-date stamp, enabling carrier pickup and on-site label printing. After installing the solution, Soldiers’ Angels increased shipments more than fivefold—to nearly 1,000 packages per day—cut costs by reducing contractor use, and Endicia made the feature available across its Premium, Professional, and Platinum services.
