Other World Computing Uses Endicia and ADSI to Reduce Manual Entry and Increase Shipping Efficiency

Other World Computing (OWC), a long-established e-commerce retailer (macsales.com) with one of the largest catalogs of Mac and mobile device accessories, was shipping 1,000–3,000 packages a day via USPS. That volume outpaced its manual postal manifesting process—printing and reconciling daily manifests was time-consuming, risked delivery delays, and could hold up large batches of shipments when discrepancies occurred.

OWC added Endicia’s API to its existing ADSI Ship‑IT multi-carrier solution to automate barcode-based scanning, label production, and electronic manifesting (a one-page SCAN form). The integration eliminated paper manifesting and manual reconciliation, embedded international export documents in labels, enabled discounted postage and tracking, and saved about $25,000 in labor, materials, and maintenance over 18 months while cutting at least 10 hours of weekly work and removing shipping bottlenecks.
